The 2012 season is about two months away, and it’s a perfect time to rank NFL players by position. A combination of factors such as stats, overall performance, etc., determine where players are ranked. Analysis will be added very soon, I just wanted to get these rankings done first.*Player ages are how old they will be on September 5th, NFL Kickoff date.

Tebow doesn't make this list, not directly, but the Tebow influence will be felt.
These are the young guns, the QBs getting a lot of attention for one reason or another, and guys that might have someone breathing down their neck for that starting job. Call it must watch QB TV if you want, I like to think of it that way.
Lions trade Stafford to the Colts for #1 pick
By Dave Brown
Sources not even remotely close to the league have confirmed that the Detroit Lions have traded starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and three first round draft picks to the Indianapolis Colts for the #1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Stafford was drafted #1 overall in 2009, and had a rough first two years with the Lions. In 2011, Stafford started all 16 games, leading the Lions to 10 wins and the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. He threw for 5,038 yards with 41 touchdowns and a 97.2 quarterback rating.
