According to reports, Fox is considering Sean Payton as an analyst for the network's NFL broadcasts.

This wouldn't interfere with his coaching job, because Payton has been suspended for the full 2012 season as a result of the bounty program the New Orleans Saints were running.

Discipline was handed down to the entire organization in the form of a $500,000 fine and the loss of second round draft picks this upcoming draft and next year.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis is suspended without pay for the first eight regular season  games of the 2012 season.

Former Saints (and current St. Louis Rams) defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is suspended indefinitely from the NFL, effective immediately.

Saints assistant Head Coach Joe Vitt is suspended without pay for the first six regular-season games of the 2012 season.

All of the individuals disciplined to date are expected to participate with the league in the development of programs that promote sportsmanship.

The players involved have yet to be punished, and the NFL Players Association is investigating the bounty program. Discipline is expected after that investigation is over.

In a possibly related move, the Saints have signed Curtis Lofton to a five year contract. Is this a move that indicates they will part ways with Jonathon Vilma?

The team says Vilma is still in good standing with the team, but he is one of the primary players in the bounty scandal.
