Earlier this year, the NFL moved the trade deadline from the end of week six to the end of week eight.
The NFL is considering once again pushing back the trade deadline, this time because of the weather.

Hurricane Sandy making landfall...
Hurricane Sandy caused the New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets to shut down operations today, they have told players and non-football personnel not to report to team facilities Monday.

The deadline for trades as of now is 4:00 PM Tuesday, but if these teams remain shut down for operations because of the weather it would make completing any trade paperwork and submitting it to the NFL on time impossible.

Teams reported to have players on the trading block are the Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams, the Carolina Panthers, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Multiple teams have expressed interest in some of the players involved, and it's no secret that the New York Jets need some help on offense.

Make of it what you will, the trade deadline probably will be extended one or two days.

Update:
NFL teams have been informed by the league that the trade deadline has now been pushed back to 4:00 PM thursday.
