The Broncos gained 530 yards on offense, and had 29 first downs, dominating the time of possession with 35:14 on offense.
The Saints ran into a stout Broncos defense, and their offense struggled.
How bad were the Saints dominated?
Well, the Saints went 1 for 12 on third downs, and managed a total of 252 yards of offense, 201 of those were passing yards. The Broncos had 14 first downs for the entire game, and only two of those came from running the ball. The most telling stat for the Saints offense was the meager average of 4.2 yards per play on offense.
Drew Brees was 22 of 42 for 213 yards, 2 touchdowns, and one interception. He was also sacked for a loss, and that counts against the passing yards for the net of 201, if you're wondering.
The Saints drop to 2-5 overall, and are well on their way to the dismal season many predicted after the off- season issues.
The Broncos went on to a 34 to 14 victory, and also are now over the .500 mark for the season, improving their record to 4-3.
