Colt McCoy looks like the underdog in fighting for the starting quarterback spot. With the drafting of Brandon Weeden, McCoy is doing all he can to win the job, but may not have a fair chance.
"We'll see, I don't know," McCoy told KXAN-TV at his annual football camp in Austin, Texas. "There are a lot of things I can control and I'm controlling those things. The things beyond that I try to do my best to not worry about those and go out there and do what I do on the field, that's the most important thing. Beyond that, I can't do anything else."
McCoy is going into his third year in the NFL and has been with two head coaches, two offensive coordinators, a poor receiving corps, and even a lockout. Not many quarterbacks can thrive in that kind of situation.
Holmgren, who knows a few things about quarterback, said, "Our quarterback position is a strong position in my opinion." Pretty hard to think on the same page as him even though they do have three quarterbacks they can lean on in Brandon Weeden, Colt McCoy, and Seneca Wallace
Team president, Mike Holmgren, was brought in help bring the franchise back to it's feet. In two season's the team has notched nine wins, and if Weeden or McCoy aren't the answer, Cleveland quest for a franchise quarterback will continue.
