The 2013 AFC playoff picture is almost set, with the final six teams having been decided. The only thing still to be determined in the AFC is what teams are seeded where, and what teams get that coveted first round bye.
There are five teams that have made the playoffs in the NFC, with three teams vying for that final wild card spot. By now, most of us know that the Atlanta Falcons have the #1 seed and home field locked up in the NFC. There are also two divisions still up for grabs, the NFC East and NFC West.
You all want to know who is going to get in, and who is going to get a first round bye, so I'll break down the entire playoff picture, giving the most probable outcome. I'll just start by saying that the final NFC Wild Card spot isn't as up for grabs as you might think it is.

NFL to review Suh kick, red flag challenge rule

The NFL regularly reviews game film every week, and hands out fines, suspensions, takes away sacks or tackles, and can also award sacks or tackles, and they will review the Thanksgiving Day incident involving Ndamukong Suh on Monday, a top league executive told USA Today.
At about 6:49 in the first quarter, with the Detroit Lions leading seven to nothing, the Texans had a first down on their 21 yard line. Texans offensive lineman Derek Newton is the one responsible for blocking Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on this play. The result is an incomplete pass, but that's not what drew attention in the national media.

AFC West Will Be Competitive Division Once Again
The AFC West has been viewed as that of a ‘weak’ division the past few years. This is mostly attributed to the fact that the division hasn’t made it far into the playoffs in the last couple years.
This may be a common misconception held by NFL fans around the league. The AFC West may in fact be the most competitive division in football today.
Last year, there was a three-way overall record tie for first place in the West at 8-8 (Denver, San Diego, And Oakland) with Kansas City not too far behind at 7-9. Beyond that, every team in the west finished with an even 3-3 divisional record.
Chargers division losses were determined by no more than 7 points.
With the teams in the West maintaining their team for another year, the competition will be pretty much the same as last year.
San Diego went through a huge makeover of their team, adding several new expected starters on both sides of the ball. Where do the Chargers stack up with these teams?
The Denver Broncos will be the Chargers main problem this year I believe, adding free agency gem and Hall of Fame Quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning will no doubt elevate the young and talented Bronco offense.
However, the Chargers main focus this offseason was to improve defensively, adding much needed depth and speed to their defensive line and linebacker core.
This will cause a lot of issues for Manning. Manning has dealt with pressure from teams like the Houston Texans with Mario Williams, but Manning will experience a new kind of pressure this year.
Nevertheless, expect the Broncos and Chargers to battle for the AFC West title and spot for the playoffs.
This doesn’t mean I’m discounting the viability of Oakland or Kansas City winning the division, just based on the talent and coach’s, I think it will come down to Denver and San Diego.

Erik Winston Leaving the Texans

Widely considered to be the best Right Tackle in the NFL, Erik Winston has quietly had a fantastic career on what was one of the best offensive lines in football last season. At the end of the day, his $5.5 million salary became prohibitive for a team looking to sign some big name Free Agents of their own while also allegedly pursuing Peyton Manning.

Arian Foster reaches deal
The Houston Texans have reached a five year agreement with running back Arian Foster, according to a tweet posted by his agent. The deal means no Foster avoids the franchise tag.
The Buffalo Bills are also in the final stages of getting a new contract done with wide receiver Stephen Johnson. The deadline for the franchise tag to be used by all NFL teams is later today.
