Chicago Bear's new offensive coordinator ,Mike Tice, and new quarterbacks coach, Jeremy Bates, will allow quarterback Jay Cutler to do something he hasn't done in two years under Mike Martz...call audibles.
Last season in October Jay Cutler announced that he was displeased with the play-calling of Martz. NBC caught a scene where Cutler said an expletive to Martz when his team approached the line of scrimmage.
Cutler has thrown for 5,500 yards with 36 touchdowns in 25 games under Martz, but his production kept going down as he got sacked and started to miss games because of injuries.
Quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates was with Cutler back in 2008 when he was calling the plays. That was Cutler's final season in Denver and the only time Cutler went to the Pro Bowl.
Another player that was with Bates in 2008 was Brandon Marshall who has just joined the Bears. Marshall was Cutler's go-to-guy, and Bates says he wants to use those Broncos techniques again. Eliminating the backpedal from center from Martz, and to make Cutler a mobile quarterback.
Cutler has the liberty to call audibles once more

It's about time Cutler got some freedom to change the plays at the line of scrimmage, and as much as it pains me to say it, it will make the Bears a better team.
